As part of a new blog series, we’re opening the doors to Alt Labs HQ and getting to know some of the people that keep our operation moving! This week, we’re spending time with our new star developer…Janaid Hanif!
A bit of background
Fitness fan Janaid joined Alt Labs in May 2022, bringing with him experience of working with a range of consumer and tech brands, including Barker and Stonehouse and FNVi.
At Alt Labs, Janaid is responsible for creating and deploying websites across a range of e-commerce platforms, including Aero, Magento, Shopify, WordPress, WooCommerce and bespoke sites.

Interested to know more about Janaid’s role? We got to the heart of what his role involved and where he sees the industry going.
Q1 – What is the most important skill you need in your role?
Problem solving and good communication skills are absolutely vital. Platforms are basically blank spaces that can be created into anything a client needs. That much flexibility and choice means its vital to lock in the exact requirements and understand what role the website is playing for the client.
Having a clear direction also makes it a lot easier to address any issues, because you know what the end goal ultimately is.
Q2 – What is the most rewarding part of your role?
I always enjoy the customer satisfaction and positive feedback that comes from a job well done. It gives you huge confidence moving into the next task and helps establish a great working relationship for potential future collaborations.
Q3 – What has been the biggest change in your sector in the past 12 months?
Augmented reality / VR has definitely become more of a consideration over the past year. It’s really moved from almost a fringe technology embraced by a few sectors to something that every business is finding ways to implement. I think it’s going to continue to have an impact on the work of developers in the months and years to come.
Q4 – What is your top productivity hack?
Getting a good workout in before work definitely gets me energised and helps me to stay focused and upbeat throughout the day, meaning I achieve more than the days I skip a session.
